Playball 2007 |
Playball 2007 was this year held in Coventry and despite the awful weather we had the weeks before, the sun shone for most of the day. Once again Tonbridge took a squad to the tournament and they played 4 games over the course of the day. Despite being beaten in their first game against Horsham Giants (who went on to be runners up in the top league), Tonbridge came back in their next game to beat the Dodgers and claim a place in the AA final. The final turned out to be one of the best games I have watched for a long time. Despite some great fielding from the Nottingham Orioles, we batted brilliantly to keep the game close until the last inning. Due to a difference in both teams scores, we had to play a deciding final open inning which turned out to be our best at bat of the day, scoring 6 runs in the inning. Despite a good effort from Nottingham, we kept our fielding very tight and made the outs to win the game. |
